Physiotherapist's Details
Acupuncture, Functional Dry Needling, K-Tape & Cupping
Kim is a registered physiotherapist who treats clients in and around the Edmonton area as well as virtually within the province of Alberta. She has always had a passion for helping others and believes in a holistic approach in her practice. Empowering her clients to better understand their body, Kim uses an evidence-based approach that incorporates detailed education in her sessions as well manual therapy and functional exercise.
Originally from the east coast, Kim obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia and then her Bachelor of Education degree from Memorial University in Newfoundland. Not long after beginning her teaching career with children, Kim quickly realized she wanted to continue her education journey in the health sciences after a move out west and this is where she obtained her Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta.
With a naturally curious personality, Kim has continued to enhance her postgraduate education in many areas of practice. Shortly after graduating from university, she continued her education in the area of pelvic health physiotherapy and strongly believes in a biopsychosocial approach in her practice. She has taken advanced courses in this area including pregnancy and pelvic girdle pain, oncology and the pelvic floor, trauma and pain education, and pediatric bowel/bladder issues. She has also worked in private practice clinics where she has treated orthopedic and sports injuries for all ages as well as pre/post op injuries, many musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, chronic pain conditions, motor vehicle collision injuries, and issues from day-to-day activities.
Kim also has a special interest in working with children, especially those with physical and developmental disabilities. Kim has worked with agencies in both Edmonton and Calgary for children with diverse needs and is continuously adding to her education in this area.
Since expanding her services to a mobile practice, Kim feels she can reach more clients and help ease the assessment and treatment process for those who have difficulties leaving their home or getting access to a brick-and-mortar clinic. In her spare time, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys, testing out a new coffee shop in town, or finding a new running trail to explore.
