Originally from Central Alberta, Karina initially attended Red Deer College prior to transferring to the University of Alberta to complete her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction in 2012. She then went on to complete her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta in 2014. In 2023, she completed her Master of Clinical Science Advanced Healthcare Practice in Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from the University of Western Ontario. Through the process of completing this degree as well as previous Canadian Orthopedic Division courses, she became certified as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). In addition to developing her musculoskeletal training, Karina has a special interest in treating vestibular and concussion conditions and has taken several courses to advance her skills including extensive Vestibular Rehabilitation training through Duke/Emory University and the APTA in 2019. She has also taken additional courses in Functional Dry Needling, McKenzie Part A and B, Graston technique, and cupping.
