Physiotherapist's Details
After graduating from the University of Guelph with a BSc Human Kinetics she went on to broaden and deepen her expertise with a BSc Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario.
She began her career in the Ontario hospital system, helping patients rehabilitate after significant health issues. Since moving to Calgary in 2000, she has been working in private practice and at the Lifemark Crowchild Twin Arena's location since May 2001.
Jennifer has taken many courses related to vestibular rehabilitation, enabling her to work with patients suffering from dizziness, vertigo and balance issues.
She has been incorporating manual therapy as part of her treatment approach for over 20 years after achieving her level 3 orthopedic manual therapy certification. Her manual therapy courses combined with her training in spinal manipulation gives her the expertise she needs to help patients normalize their spinal and peripheral joint mobility.
Jennifer has been certified to treat patients with Gunn IMS (dry needling) for the treatment of myofascial pain syndromes for over 15 years. Jennifer is trained in GLA:D, an evidence based group exercise and education program for those affected by knee and hip osteoarthritis.
In Jennifer’s experience, the key to recovery lies in the collaboration between therapist and patient, applying an appropriate mix of treatment approaches gleaned from training and years of experience, combined with a good exercise program and understanding of their condition, allowing patients more control over their road to recovery and health maintenance thereafter.
