Your Opportunity:

Villa Caritas is an acute inpatient geriatric psychiatry hospital. This 150-bed hospital serves individuals living with dementia of all stages, other psychiatric illnesses such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders and thought disorders, complex psychosocial needs and other medical comorbidities. Its programs promote a patient-centered approach and include a variety of individual and group programs that focus on optimizing functioning, independence, and quality of life. The comprehensive multidisciplinary team works together to treat the whole person: body, mind and soul.

Description:

The Physical Therapist I (PT) is responsible for providing direct client focused therapeutic care, in collaboration and consultation with other members of the interdisciplinary team. The PT assesses physical status of clients, participates in the development and implementation of an integrated plan of care. The PT is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a Physical Therapy program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in acute care. Experience working in geriatric psychiatry.
