As an important member of the interdisciplinary Emergency Department team, the Physical Therapist I will work broadly within their professional scope assessing and treating patients in a fast-paced environment presenting with musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, neurological, vestibular, and functional conditions and concerns. As a primary care provider, the Physical Therapist I will have the opportunity to work independently and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to identify patients in need of early Physical Therapy intervention, to provide evidence-based and patient-focused care, and recommendations for assistive equipment, support, and community resources to enable safe and appropriate discharge. As a part of the centralized Rehabilitation Medicine department, this position may be assigned to assist other inpatient units as needed. The Physical Therapist I will be responsible for the delivery of services in accordance with established standards and in alignment with Covenant Health’s mission, vision, and values.

Hourly Rate: $42.51 – $56.60

 

Position Responsibilities:

The Physical Therapist (PT) I is responsible for providing direct client focused therapeutic care, in collaboration and consultation with other members of the interdisciplinary team. The PT I assesses physical status of clients and participates in the development and implementation of an integrated plan of care. The PT I is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with professional and organizational standards, and with the mission, vision, and values of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Qualifications:

Graduate of a Physical Therapy program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
