Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct post-operative physiotherapy assessments for patients undergoing outpatient arthroplasty
- Develop and implement individualized discharge plans in collaboration with the surgical and nursing teams
- Provide patient and family education on post-operative mobility, weight-bearing, and home exercise programs
- Ensure safe and timely patient discharge in alignment with surgical program protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Contribute to the development and refinement of surgical program workflows and discharge protocols
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited program
- Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
- Minimum 3 years inpatient orthopedic experience
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and patient education skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
ASSESTS
- Experience with same-day or outpatient surgical discharge programs
- Familiarity with total knee and total hip arthroplasty rehabilitation protocols
- Experience collaborating within a surgical or interdisciplinary team
