Job Description
Your Opportunity:
If you're an experienced Physiotherapist looking for a balanced lifestyle and career, we should talk. This 0.6 FTE position gives you the perfect platform to build a life here. You'll have steady hours to make a real difference in our community, plus the flexibility and freedom to start your own private practice on the side if you choose. Barrhead is one of those friendly, close-knit towns where you'll know your patients and neighbours by name. Life here moves at a different pace. Your commute is a few minutes, housing is affordable, and you're just a short drive from peaceful lakes and trails. We come together for things like the Blue Heron Fair - a classic Alberta gathering with a rodeo, great food, and a whole lot of small-town pride. Practicing here means your skills are truly valued. You'll build genuine relationships with your patients and see the direct impact of your care every day. It's a chance to slow down, breathe deep, and remember why you got into physiotherapy in the first place. If you're ready to work where you're appreciated and live where your time is your own, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today. Description:
As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.
