This association health and dental plan is a group insurance plan offered to all members of AAP through our partners at Davis Benefits.

  • Member pays 100% of the cost of the coverage (billed directly from our Benefits platform)
  • No medical underwriting
  • Affordable premiums with competitive coverage

For more information, download AAP Extended Health Benefits – 2024.

Membership Enrollment:

Members of the association are given the option to enroll in the health and dental plan within the member portal. Our partner Katrina Sinclair (katrina@davisbenefits.ca) from Davis Benefits will help coordinate getting you set up.

Enrollment is voluntary, as members may choose to participate based on their individual needs and preferences.

Coverage Options:

The health and dental plan provides one plan design for all members. If you are an incorporated business, you can also look at adding a Health Care Spending Account. Please contact our insurance partner Katrina Sinclair to discuss setup.

Basics of a Health Care Spending Account

Provider Networks:

Your plan provider: Simply Benefits

The plan is set up to coordinate with all dentists and practitioners. However, it is up to the individual business (i.e. dentist) to coordinate claims with insurance providers. Some businesses require the patient to pay everything up front, some businesses coordinate with insurance providers instantly.

Renewal and Changes:

The association periodically reviews the health and dental plan, considering factors such as the overall health of the group, cost trends, and changes in the insurance market.

This Plan may be renewed or modified based on the needs of the association and its members.

Overall, our association health and dental plan aims to provide cost-effective and comprehensive coverage for our members. Being part of an association plan often results in better negotiating power and more affordable premiums compared to individual insurance policies.

Rules of the Benefits Plan:

If you cancel your plan and choose to rejoin the plan at a later date you will be medically underwritten to re-join the plan.

Spouses and Dependents must be added to the plan within 30 days of a life event: Marriage, divorce, birth of a child. For further details please refer to your booklet in your employee benefits portal.
