Associate Owner – Physical Therapist: Edmonton

New

ELEVARE Physical Therapy

Full-Time
Edmonton, Alberta Posted May 18, 2026 Deadline: July 15, 2026

Job Description

This is not a job posting.

This is an invitation to co-own a clinic that hasn’t opened yet – to have your name on the door before a single patient walks through it, to shape the culture from the ground up, and to build genuine equity in a practice that is designed, from its foundation, to be exceptional.

If you’ve ever thought “I want to own a clinic one day,” this is the rare opportunity where you can do exactly that without carrying the project alone.

ELEVARE Physical Therapy Ltd. is a new private physiotherapy clinic opening in a premier Edmonton location – one of the most strategically positioned clinic locations in Alberta.

The clinic is being founded by the Founding Director, BScPT, FCAMPT – with over 25 years of clinical experience and over 20 years of private practice ownership, including the successful founding, growth, and sale of a multi-office physiotherapy group in Edmonton. The Founding Director is looking for one to two associate owners who will practice clinically, share in the ownership of the business, and help build ELEVARE into something the Edmonton physiotherapy community respects and relies on.

This is a ground-floor ownership opportunity – and we mean that literally. The location is secured. The business plan is complete, with full proforma financials developed and financing discussions with our banking partners well underway. We are at the point where the right clinical partner triggers the launch. If that’s you, you won’t be joining something – you’ll be starting it.

About the Company

ELEVARE is built on a belief that too many clinics compromise clinical integrity for volume. We will not. Every patient who comes to ELEVARE will be there because they genuinely need care – and they will leave better because of it. Our reputation will be built on outcomes, not appointment counts.

The clinical model is evidence-based orthopaedic physiotherapy at the highest standard. Manual therapy is a cornerstone, not an afterthought. Exercise prescription is deliberate. Discharge planning is proactive. And the patient experience – from booking to final appointment – will reflect the quality of the care delivered inside the treatment room.

We will be the clinic that physicians, specialists, and occupational health providers in the core trust because we treat referrals with the same seriousness that they do. We will earn that trust one patient at a time.

Our values in practice:

•  Clinical excellence is non-negotiable, not aspirational

•  Patient advocacy over patient volume

•  Ownership mentality at every level of the team

•  Honest, direct, collegial communication

•  Continuous learning as a professional standard, not a checkbox

The Ownership Model

Associate owners at ELEVARE are not employees with equity as a side benefit. They are co-owners who happen to also be clinicians. The distinction matters.

As an associate owner, you will:

  • Hold a meaningful equity position in ELEVARE Physical Therapy Ltd. (ownership proportional to contribution and negotiated at time of onboarding)
  • Participate in the governance and strategic direction of the clinic alongside the Founding Director
  • Share in the financial success of the clinic through proportional dividend distributions from net profit
  • Contribute your professional reputation and referral network to building the clinic’s patient base
  • Practise clinically, delivering the standard of care that defines the ELEVARE brand
  • Help recruit, mentor, and set the tone for the clinical team as the clinic grows

The ownership opportunity is structured to be accessible. Associate owners contribute working capital proportional to their ownership stake alongside the Founding Director’s investment. The clinic is financed through a prominent financial institution with the project substantially funded – this is not a speculative venture requiring you to fund a build-out from scratch. You are joining a structured, professionally financed clinic at its foundation, with full transparency into the proforma financials.

Who We Are Looking For

The right candidate for this role is a rare combination. We are not simply hiring a physiotherapist and calling it a partnership. We are looking for someone whose professional identity is inseparable from their clinical excellence, and who is genuinely motivated by the idea of building and owning something.

Non-negotiable qualifications:

  • Registered Physiotherapist in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in orthopaedic or musculoskeletal physiotherapy
  • Strong manual therapy background with post-graduate training (e.g. CAMPT, MDT, Mulligan, or equivalent)
  • A patient base or referral relationships that you would bring to the clinic (or a demonstrable plan to build one)
  • Eligibility to work in Canada and to hold a share interest in an Alberta corporation

What will set you apart:

  • Pursuit of or completion of FCAMPT designation
  • Experience in WCB, MVA, or occupational health rehabilitation
  • Acupuncture or IMS certification
  • Interest or experience in business management, mentorship, or clinical leadership
  • A track record of building referral relationships with physicians or specialists
  • A genuine belief that the best clinics are built on clinical outcomes, not booking volume
A note on culture fit:

The Founding Director has built and led clinical teams for over 20 years. The one thing he has learned is that technical skill is teachable, but character is not. The right candidate for ELEVARE is honest, self-aware, driven by patient outcomes rather than ego, and excited by the challenge of building something from the ground up. If you are looking for a comfortable salaried position with no accountability beyond your appointment book, this is not the right fit. If you are energized by ownership, responsibility, and the opportunity to help define what a great clinic looks like – we want to hear from you.

What You Can Expect From Us

  • Full transparency – proforma financials, lease terms, ownership structure, and working capital requirements disclosed to serious candidates
  • A mentor with 25+ years of clinical practice, FCAMPT designation, and a proven track record of building and operating successful private practices
  • A purpose-built clinic space in one of Edmonton’s most prominent business communities, with a patient catchment that most private clinics would spend years trying to develop
  • A production-based compensation structure that rewards clinical excellence and patient volume, with equity participation in the financial upside of the clinic
  • Access to post-graduate learning, mentorship toward FCAMPT if desired, and the clinical credibility of working alongside a Fellow
  • A culture that takes clinical quality seriously – no assembly-line care, no pressure to overtreat, no compromise on discharge planning
  • The satisfaction of being part of building something exceptional, and having your name and reputation attached to it from day one
