The School of Health and Wellness at RDP is currently inviting applications for a Part-time instructor position in the Kinesiology and Sports Studies Program commencing August 2025. If you have any questions prior to application, please email shwcareers@rdpolytech.ca.

The focus of this position will be teaching a combination of laboratory, activity and theory courses in the first two years of the university transfer and diploma programs.

Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):
• Teaching students in classroom and/or lab settings with flexibility for both face to face and online course delivery.
• Creating a stimulating, effective, and learner-centered environment.
• Preparing, reviewing and/or updating course material.
• Marking, grading, and evaluation of student work.
• Providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and assistance to students.
• Actively contributing and participating in program planning, curriculum development & review, project work, and scholarly activity.
• Participating in School and Polytechnic wide initiatives and/or committees.
• Upholding the Professional Responsibilities of Faculty at RDP which are described within the Faculty Performance Policy.
• Demonstrating and promoting RDP organizational values and following RDP policies and practices.

Additional Information
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in area related to Athletic Therapy or Physiotherapy
Current registration with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) or College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
Recent clinical / practical experience
Excellent communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
Passion for teaching, ability to inspire students, and commitment to student learning and success
Ability to work effectively in a variety of team environments
Proven commitment to continuous learning and reflective practice

Part-time Instructors:
• Receive an additional 14% of their gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
• Part-time instructors are not eligible for comprehensive health and dental benefits packages.
• Eligible for individual professional development funding, additional free professional development opportunities offered through the institution.

Eligibility to access the above mentioned benefits is dependent upon the FARDP Collective Agreement and related RDP policies.
